Solene's Notes:
Chick Project

March 21, 2003

Solene's class just recently did a month on development.  To aide in the process they got to  raise chickens from the egg stage.  This was our weekend to take one home and babysit the chick.  Okay, so the little things grow quickly,  what was a cute little ball of fluff 2 weeks ago is now an adolescent chicken with attitude.  Enclosed are Solenes observations in her own words.  She loves her little chick "Christy"

Day Two,
Saturday: 6:16 AM

Chickens are very gentle and sticky and you dont want to drop them.  This morning the chick was sleeping. Thats all.

 Saturday 7:36PM
He tickles, he runs around the floor.  He pooped.  He cries and thinks we are his mama

 Sunday 6:44 PM
The chick is pecking and chirping.  He was out of food so we fed him.

This was our last evening with the chick.  Tomorrow he has to go back to school.  I think our neighbors will thank us as he has been quite noisy the past few nights.
_____________
There is no more chick,  according to Solenes teacher the chicks all went to the farm, and we all know what that means.  Don't think we will be eating chicken in this house for a while.

Day One,
Friday:  5:30 PM
The Chick Chirped, was eating and hopping around, and he was eating. He tried to jump out of the box and we had to pet him and tape the papers to the box.  We call the chick Christy

Day Three,
Sunday:  6:32 AM
The chick follows mama all around.  He thinks she is his mama.  He likes feet.  He is hungry.

Day Four,
Monday:

This chick is chirping he has to go home.
