Its MIMI!!!!!

August 1, 2007

Rick said "no cats!"   We have stuck to the rule and so far no felines have had the pleasure of gracing our home.  That is until about 2 days ago.  She was a wild little kitten who had no idea what a cat box was and would rather hide in Karen's car stereo than see people but something in her face needed us.  Rick was at a Titans game and wasn't due home until 11pm.  It was a perfect time to hide said kitty in my bathroom until I could set her up shop in my tack room.  But at 10:30 she began to protest her captivity in the bathroom and started making a noise only a kitten the size of a small wilderbeast could make. Running through the house in my underwear, panicked that Rick would come home and hear her, I threw her in a carrier and put her on the kitchen deck.
The next morning to my horror, Rick decided not to go into the office at the usual 5:30am but waited until well after 6.  By 6:30 he was starting to figure out something was up.  The comments "ya know when Wednesday Adams is smiling someone is going to lose their head?  Well your smiling and its scaring me!"  and "You didn't buy another horse did you?" and then the one that made my eyes bulge... "why do I feel like I am going to come home to a house full of cats or something?"
By this time the kitty heard my voice and began to screech.  Solene looked at me with eyes wide and began to cough as I started to frantically throw pots and pans into the sink and bang dishes into the dishwasher to cover the noise.  It was so much fun!  Rick ended up going to work puzzled and unable to pinpoint what was up.  Unfortunately, Rick got home before Solene and I had time to set the kitty up house in the tack room and he found the kitty.  He was MAD.  But he went for a drive and then in true Rick fashion he gave in and gave the kitty a name.  She is now known as Mimi.
The once wild little kitty who didn't use a cat box and was petrified of everyone and everything is now a laid back and quite happy little indoor/outdoor kitty.  What you cannot see is that just below her on the couch cushions is Widget and below him on the floor is Maxx.
